Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Trikkaion

Based on its extensive experience in urban sustainability strategies, Commonspace undertook "technical assistance services for the preparation and submission of a proposal under the call of the EΥD of the "Thessaly 2021-2027" programme for the Integrated Spatial Investment-Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (IIS-SUD)" for the Municipality of Trikkaion.

The project team worked closely with the Municipality's services throughout the preparation, consultation and submission of the Strategy, which has now been approved by the Region of Thessaly and is a key development tool for the city. Indicative areas of service development were:

• The identification of the area of intervention (AIP) and the comprehensive presentation of its individual spatial and development characteristics such as demographic, social, economic and climatic characteristics.

• The definition of the existing policy framework at regional and local level through the analysis of the guidelines, findings and forecasts provided through the Regional Spatial Framework, the Municipality's General Urban Plan and other specific plans already in force.

• To highlight the development needs and potential of the FP and contribute to the formulation of the Vision, Objectives, Funding Sources and Action Plan of the Strategy in cooperation with the Municipality.

• To contribute to the creation of a booklet and presentations for consultation on the Strategy and City agencies and citizens.
